Messe Essen is one of the most important trade fair and congress venues in North Rhine-Westphalia. With modern halls, the Congress Center Essen and a clear infrastructure, it is an established venue for national and international events.
Our hotel is only about a 15-minute walk from the exhibition grounds. Many of our guests appreciate this convenient walking distance. A short walk to the fair in the morning, and back to the greenery in the evening without any detours. Especially after a long day in the halls, it makes a difference whether you’re still stuck in traffic or already walking home through the forest.

The exhibition grounds in the south of Essen are compact and well organised. Several halls, the Congress Center and spacious entrance areas ensure clear wayfinding, even at larger events. Industry meet-ups, specialist congresses and public fairs take place here regularly and shape the city’s event calendar.
Some of the best-known and largest events include SPIEL, the world’s largest public fair for board games; EQUITANA, the leading international trade fair for equestrian sports; Reise + Camping; as well as various trade fairs from the industrial, technology and services sectors. In addition, numerous congresses and industry gatherings take place at the Congress Center Essen, which is directly integrated into the exhibition grounds.
Its location between Rüttenscheid and Bredeney makes it easy to reach both by car and by public transport. Via the nearby A52, visitors can quickly reach other parts of the Ruhr region. Tram and underground connections provide a direct link to Essen Central Station. Düsseldorf Airport can also be reached by car in around 20 to 30 minutes, which is particularly relevant for international exhibitors and trade visitors.
Restaurants, cafés and the Grugapark are located in the immediate vicinity. Especially for multi-day events, the proximity to green spaces offers a peaceful balance to the bustle of the fair.
